You bought the wrong switch for that diagram. In the one link you put up they made a reference to Stuart McDonalds Mega switches which are strat type switches which are a form of a rotary switch. I did fing this diagram at the stuart site for their switch and I believe it has all the combinations you want. Good Lock

3 Pickup Guitar. Switching for Neck / Middle / Bridge The switch you want to use for this circuit is a DPDT on/on/on switch. Go to this page, scroll down to DPDT Switch, and look at Diagram D (a totally different type of switch than the one used in the previous diagram). The wires shown from the neck pickup, middle pickup, etc are the "hot" wires.
Guitar wiring diagram with 2 humbuckers, 5-way 4-pole rotary switch, one volume and one tone control. Same 5 pickup configurations as the PRS 5 way rotary switching. Note: If you are using standard humbuckers (seymour Duncan, Gibson, etc.) you must mount the pickups witht the screw pole coils as shown in the diagram to get "Inner" and "Outer" coils in switch positions 2, 3 & 4.
Since the original design only allowed single pickup selection my customer wanted this 3 single coil guitar to have typical Strat-like switching. This 5-way rotary switch was the perfect solution. The grounding issue was a missing bridge ground wire that I replaced and I copper shielded the guard too.
